Description:

Grimm's Building Set Sloping Blocks

Who says that building blocks are just for babies and toddlers? Take it up a notch with this set of complex building blocks which are sure to stimulate children and adults alike. Match up the blocks in the same shade to make rectangles and carefully balance the blocks on their slim sides and slanted edges to build whacky constructions. This wooden block set is a great way to develop spatial awareness, fine motor skills and logic. Build towers, create patterns and images and make wonderful play scenes for peg dolls and dwarves.

The blocks are not varnished, ensuring they will not easily slip off one another when building imaginative constructions. Steiner educators will love this multi-purpose educational toy as it can be used for natural play in a myriad of ways - build houses and toppling towers, use to make patterns or as counting aids and for learning the names of different shapes, or even as ingredients in a play kitchen.

The wooden blocks come in a frame which is handy for storage and travelling with. They are ethically made from sustainably sourced lime wood and stained with water-based colour which allows the grain to show through. The frame measures 31cm x 31cm and each block is 4cm thick.

This set is suitable from age 3+.

Sensory play: tripod grip, fine motor skills, spatial thinking

Grimms Toys are inspired by the Waldorf Steiner education movement which advocates learning through thoughtful, creative play at an unhurried pace. Toys play an important part of the learning experience and Waldorf toys are made with natural materials, beautiful and simplistic the lack of details allow children to fill in the blanks with their imaginations. They can be used in multiple ways in creative play scenarios, rather than being prescriptive. Waldorf-inspired toys are wonderfully tactile and call on children to play with them.
